Mr. and Mrs. Jerry and Sharon Gaddy of Linden would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Lavon Gaddy to Anthony Robert Rice of Creola. The ceremony will be held Oct. 27, at Linden Baptist Church.

Miss Gaddy is the granddaughter of George J. Simpkins and the Late Lavon Simpkins of Camden. She is also the granddaughter of Mary Gaddy Sr. and the late Bradley Gaddy Sr. She is a graduate of Marengo Academy. She is a graduate of the University of West Alabama with a bachelor in social science, and a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. She is employed with the Alabama Department of Human Resources in Baldwin County.

Mr. Rice is the son of Maurice Rice of Creola and Charlene and Shannon Harris of Saraland. He is the grandson of Robert and Morris Ann Garner of Creola and Barney and Delores Rice of Saraland. He is also the great-grandson of Claudelle Sherman and the late Felix Sherman of Creola. He is a graduate of Satsuma High School. He is employed by JLS International Inc. in Robertsdale.
