WASHINGTON &8212; Senator Richard Shelby, R-Ala. recently announced a plan regarding funding for several Alabama waterway projects, including the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway.
If approved, the bill will include $112.90 million for water projects, including $20.94 million for the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway.
Currently, the bill has passed in sub committee and in the Appropriations Committee. After the bill goes to the Senate floor, it will then go to the House of Representatives and eventually to the President for approval.
Judging from past appropriations bills, Robbins said, the bill will probably not pass until September, when the funds will be appropriated for the specified projects.
