DEMOPOLIS &8212; Timaki Stevenson, a native of Patterson, N.J., recently joined the staff of The Times as an administrative assistant.

Editor and Publisher Sam R Hall said of Stevenson, &8220;She has been a pleasure to work with so far and I am glad to have her as a part of our staff.&8221;

Six months ago Stevenson moved to Demopolis to live with and assist her grandmother, Evelyn Johnson.

In September, Stevenson will celebrate her ten-year wedding anniversary to her husband Angelo. Together they have two sons, Angelo, 6, and Xavier, 2.

When asked how her children are coping with moving from New Jersey to Alabama, Stevenson said, &8220;They miss New Jersey, but they&8217;re trying to adjust.&8221;

One thing that Stevenson herself is trying to adjust to is small town life.

Stevenson and her family have decided to make Demopolis their permanent home, but her husband is still working in New Jersey.
