Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Dickerson of Demopolis would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Meggin Monroe to Robert Edwin Mayben of Northport. The garden ceremony will be held July 9 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Freeman.

Miss Dickerson is the granddaughter of Mrs. Eva Dickerson and the late Herbert Dickerson of Goodman, Miss. and the late John and Frankie Monroe of Lucedale, Miss. She is a graduate of Demopolis High School; she received her B.S. degree in history from the University of West Alabama. She is pursuing her master&8217;s degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Alabama. She is employed with the Demopolis City School System.

Mr. Mayben is the son of Ronald and Sammie Mayben of Gadsden. He is the grandson of Mrs. Willie Mae Owen and the late Oliver F. Owen of Gadsden and the late W.L. and Betty Mayben of Attalla. He is a graduate of Etowah High School and received his bachelor&8217;s degree from Jacksonville State University. He received his master&8217;s degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Alabama. He is pursuing his doctorate from the University of Alabama where he is presently employed.
