DEMOPOLIS &8212; This week marks the opening of the long-awaited Two Rivers Best Western Hotel and Suites on U.S. Highway 80. Owner, Jay Shows, said it is considered a &8220;soft-opening.&8221; Construction is complete and the rooms are fully furnished.

Shows hopes by the beginning of next week they will be in a position to have a grand opening for the 42-room facility. Each room is equipped with mini-fridge, microwave oven, coffee brewer and a flat screen television. They also have an outdoor pool area.

The hotel has already secured a full staff of nine people to run the front desk and run housekeeping services.
