Missoula Childrens Theater returns

DEMOPOLIS &8212; Beginning on Monday, Demopolis area children are invited to audition for the Missoula Children&8217;s Theater production of &8220;Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.&8221; The traveling group from Montana is coming to Demopolis for the third year in a row.
According to Yancena Perry, community education assistant for Demopolis City Schools, the program is &8220;back by popular demand.&8221; Last year&8217;s production of &8220;The Frog Prince&8221; was a big hit, and they are looking to have another successful summer theater program, she said.
The Demopolis City Schools 21st Century Summer Enrichment program will sponsor the production along with support from the Alabama Arts Alliance.
The program is a week-long event where children are involved with scripts, costumes, acting, scenery and every other aspects of the production, all provided by Missoula Children&8217;s Theater. The actual performance will be held at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday.
They are looking for approximately 60 participants and will be casting the roles for Snow White, Queen Bella, seven Dwarfs, her Forest Friends, Black Forest Creatures, a Magic Mirror, Bats, Henchmen and the King. All students kindergarten through ninth grade are invited to participate.
This year&8217;s visiting directors are Kelli Russell and Tom Blemings. Russell is in her second season with Missoula Children&8217;s Theater and has been in productions of &8220;Crazy for You,&8221; &8220;Urinetown,&8221; &8220;West Side Story,&8221; &8220;Anything Goes&8221; and &8220;Peter Pan.&8221; Blemings is also touring for a second season with Missoula and has been seen in &8220;West Side Story,&8221; &8220;The Shadow Box&8221; and &8220;Baby the Musical.&8221;
