A key part of growth is learning from the past, therefore it is important to recall events and important happenings throughout time so that lessons may be learned and positive results may be repeated.
In the news this past week Interim Fire Chief Tommy Tate stepped down and returned to his position as captain for the department. While the situation seems to be unfortunate by most, city leaders credited Tate for his efforts to take the helm of the department in a time of need.
Area nurses were honored in observance of National Nurses Week for the care and diligent work they do for others.
The City of Linden held their first Spring Cleaning Weekend this past weekend. Residents joined in the city&8217;s beautification efforts and worked to restore their property. The city hopes to continue their cleanup efforts and host another cleanup weekend later in the year.
The Marengo County Historical Society and The Times kicked off a scavenger hunt as part of the activities set in support of National Historical Preservation Month.
The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce introduced their newly redesigned Web site. The Chamber recreated the site to help make it more user friendly, to include new features and to take on the &8220;look&8221; of the Chamber.
