George Howell Strange, III
DEMOPOLIS &045; George Howell Strange, III, 65, died Monday, February 26, 2007 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2007 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis with the Rev. Aaron Raulerson officiating. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors of Demopolis in charge of the arrangements.
Strange was a native of Birmingham and a resident of Demopolis for the past 23 years and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Webb Strange of Demopolis; a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Luther and her husband, Steve of Birmingham; a son, George Howell Strange IV of Daphne; a brother, Sky Strange and his wife, Pat of Lake Martin and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Pallbearers include Marty Deason, Danny Crawford, Clark Webb, Tommy Miller, Steve Luther and Mem S. Webb; and an honorary pallbearer, Dr. Jerry Luther.

Margaret &8220;Margie Whitfield Braswell
DEMOPOLIS &045; Margaret &8220;Margie&8221; Whitfield Braswell, 89, died on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis with the Rev. Aaron Raulerson officiating. Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors of Demopolis are in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Marie Ars Barksdale of Oxford, Miss.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Charles Nettles Drinkard Jr.
LINDEN &045; Charles Nettles Drinkard Jr., 55, of Linden died on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral services were held at Cornerstone Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 with the Rev. Rob Wynne officiating. Burial was held at Linden Memorial Park in Linden.
He was born April 25, 1951 in Selma. He was cattle farmer. He was the director of Central Alabama Co-op and a member of the Alabama Cattlemen Association.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Drinkard of Linden; his father, Bill Drinkard of Linden; his mother, Pat Drinkard of Linden; his daughter, Alice Majors and her husband, Gary of West Blocton; his daughter, Carol Dixon and her husband, Kevin of Linden; his son, Chase Drinkard and his wife, Suzanne of Linden; his son, Gabe Drinkard of Linden; his sisters, Anna Carol Dixon of Albertville and Patti Gibbs of Camden; his brother, Tim Drinkard of Auburn and two grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Billy Trotter, Jared Hasty, Rich Quinney, John Brame, Jeremy May and Steve Miller.
Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Pope, Charlie Martin, Jimmy Sealy, T.A. Simpson, Russell Gibbs, John Gibbs, Sebie Sellers, Milton Vick and Robert Wallace.

GREENSBORO &045; Sallie Kay Newton Crocker, 48, of Greensboro died on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2007 at Greensboro Baptist Church in Greensboro with interment at 2 p.m. in Pineview Memorial Gardens in Selma. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Kirk Funeral Home’s Greensboro chapel. Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel are in charge of the arrangements.
Charles Edward Chapman Jr.
SAWYERVILLE &045; Charles Edward Chapman Jr., 81, of Sawyerville died on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 at Kirk Funeral Home’s Greensboro Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Thomas officiating.
Chapman was known to everyone as &8220;Big Paw.&8221; He was born May 21, 1925 in Perry County. He started logging when he was 25 years-old and drive a log truck until he became ill two weeks ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ada Chapman; sister, Louise Livingston and brother, James Robert Chapman.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn L. Chapman of Sawyerville; his daughters, Linda Plowman and her husband, Danny of Gordo; Gloria Turner of Greensboro; her son, Charles Millard Chapman and his wife, Patricia of Sawyerville; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chip Chapman, Chad Chapman, Shannon Bailey, Steven Harper and Logan Harper. Honorary pallbearers were J. R. Martin, Jack Davis, Bill Nichols, Harry Tinker, employees of Chapman Logging, Roebuck Landing friends and Greensboro Farmers’ Co-op friends.

Stewart Curtis Nichols
MARION &045; Stewart Curtis Nichols, 74, of Marion died on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 at his home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at Faith Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Stockman officiating. Interment was held at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church before the service.
Nichols was born on Feb. 17, 1923 in Sprott. His parents were James Curtis and Mattie Vera Stewart Nichols who preceded him in death. He was retired as an Air Force Major. He was employed as a vice president of finance at Marion Military Institute for 26 years. During his time at MMI, he served as interim president for two years.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Colburn Nichols of Marion; his daughter, Susan Denise Viger of Woodstock, Ga.; his son, James Art Nichols and his wife, Carrie of Prattville; his sister, Marie Woods and her husband, Landon of Pleasant Grove; his three brothers, Fred Nichols and his wife, Ann of Sprott, Hayward Nichols and his wife, Corinne of Selma and Carey Nichols and his wife, Doris of Marion and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Horne, Lee Nichols, Chris Nichols, Mike McCluskie, Bruce Smith and Clint Sumlin.
Honorary pallbearers were Kirtley Brown, MMI Presidents, Trustees and co-workers from 1978 until 2003.
