Time to celebrate Christmas on the River

It is that time of year again, for Christmas parades, holiday decorations and best-buy bonanzas at local retail stores.
Of course, the Christmas season here in Demopolis would not be complete without our annual Christmas on the River.
Since its inception in 1972, Christmas on the River has evolved and grown. Today, the festivities span an entire week.
From pageants to parades, barbecue cook-offs to theatrical productions, business open houses to a mini-marathon, Christmas on the River has a little bit for everyone.
The hard work of the committee and community members will not go unnoticed. We will see the fruits of their labors over the next week, culminating in next Saturday’s grand events.
This is a time for our city to put its best foot forward and show off for visitors from across the nation and around the world who travel here to view the parade floats that actually float &045; not to mention to enjoy the other activities throughout the week.
We hope to see as many people as possible out and about during the next several days. Enjoy Christmas on the River. We can think of no better way to usher in the Christmas season than a community-wide event the caliber of what is showcased right here in our hometown.
