DEMOPOLIS &045; Times publisher Sam R. Hall this week announced the addition of Scott Shepherd to the newspaper as an advertising consultant.
Shepherd is a native of Coffeeville in Clarke County and has worked 10 years in the broadcast industry before leaving to try his hand at print media. He attended both the University of West Alabama and Meridian Community College where he studied broadcast journalism before leaving prior to graduation to take a position in the industry.
Shepherd said that continuing involvement with the community was a big reason he moved to the print side of the media business. He said
he probably wouldn’t have made the jump if he had to go to a different area.
Hall said that Shepherd would also bring valuable insight and expertise in some of the media areas that the paper will incorporate in its new Web site that is currently under design. Shepherd said that he is looking forward to incorporating his knowledge and learning new techniques to expand the digital media that the paper will offer on its new Web site.
