Earnest Samuel Morrow
DEMOPOLIS &045; Mr. Earnest Samuel Morrow, 87, of Demopolis died Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Colonial Haven Rehab and Health Care in Greensboro.
Graveside funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2006 at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Benny Ross Fitzhugh officiating. Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Noland Morrow of Demopolis and two grandchildren.
Joe Cooper Wallace
LINDEN &045; Joe Cooper Wallace, 83, of Linden, died on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006 at Long Term Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
Funeral services were held at Forest Hill Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 with the Revs. Brooks Barkley and Wayne Sharp officiating. Burial was at Linden Memorial Park in Linden.
Wallace was born Jan. 31, 1923 in Rose Hill. He was a retired furniture storeowner, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ila A. Wallace, of Linden; two sons, Joe Wallace Jr. and Rick Wallace, both of Linden; two daughters, Lori Guin of Livingston and Roben Taylor of Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Alpha Lee Turner of Houston, Texas and Joann Woodall of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ed Vines, Tommy Glass, Royce Shroeder, J.K. Marlow, Sonny Rentz, Gene Guy and alternate, Walter Cannon.
O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden was in charge of the arrangements.
Virgil J. Kelly
LINDEN &045; Virgil J. Kelley, 83 of Linden died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 at Marengo Nursing Home in Linden.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006 at Kelley Cemetery in Thomasville with the Rev. Tony Cannon officiating.
Her son, Robert Larry Kelley of Linden; one sister, Birdie Pitts of Six Mile and one grandchild survive her.
O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden was in charge of the arrangements.
Rene Lewallyn Halpin
ANNISTON &045; Rene Lewallyn Halpin, 64 of Anniston, formerly of Demopolis died on Sunday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at Eulaton Methodist Church with the Rev. Virgil Bohn officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Halpin was a native of Anniston. He was a Vietnam veteran and a longtime employee of Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital; a Methodist and owner of J R Consults Imaging.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marlene Hinds Halpin; his parents, Earl Newman Halpin and Bertie L. Halpin; his brothers, Earl N. Halpin Jr., Bill Halpin and Kenneth Halpin.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Halpin of Anniston; his daughter, Tracy Halpin Jay of Stockton; his sister, Jo Nell Gorman of Anniston; his brother, John Halpin of Anniston and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
