Fisher resigns from LES

LINDEN &045; The Linden Board of Education accepted the resignation of Principal Wanda Fisher of Linden Elementary School at yesterday’s meeting.
Linden Superintendent Dr. Walter Davis said that Fisher’s resignation comes after she accepted a job in a different school system. Fisher’s resignation is effective immediately and the board has chosen a replacement to finish out the current school year for her.
Fisher said that she will miss the Linden community and school system and thanked the board and her employees for all the assistance and support they have given her during her time at the elementary school.
Members of the board reciprocated Fisher’s feelings and said that they would miss the leadership that she has provided during her stay.
The board members chose Principal Terry Gosa of George P. Austin High School to take on the administrative duties at the elementary school. Davis said that Gosa was surprised when he received the news of his new appointment Monday.
Members of the board affirmed Davis’ statements and said that they would help him in anyway possible.
Davis said Gosa will retain the duties until the end if the school year when the school board will look for a replacement for Fisher.
4 In other business Davis told the board that they didn’t have to take out a short-term loan as previously expected to cover payroll expenses for the moth of December.
