Dixons Mills welcomes love with annual Christmas parade

DIXONS MILLS &045; The fifth annual Christmas parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 18 beginning at 10 a.m.
The Splendid Harmony Social Savings Club and the Dixons Mills Volunteer Fire Department sponsor the parade. Member of the savings club and organizer of this year’s parade Joyce White said that all proceeds from the parade will go to the fire department.
White said that the theme for this year’s parade is Give Love on Christmas Day. She said that right know the parade has 13 floats and two bands slated to be part of the parade.
She said that the parade will begin a the fire station and will head west to Delmont road, it will go through to County Road 10 and take that to Alabama Highway 43 and turn on to County Road 6 to return to the fire station.
White said that there will be other things set up for visitors to do prior to, during an after the parade.
White said that there will be a booth set up that showcases crafts and that there will be activities for the children.
White said that the bands marching in the parade will also perform several songs after the parade is finished.
