DEMOPOLIS – Despite severe storm damage to the area, the weekend events for Christmas on the River are still on course.

All but one float set to sail in the nautical parade Saturday evening was severely damaged.

Smith said a group of volunteers are working to get the floats up and running before the parade.

Smith said the parade will be shorter than normal this year.

Smith said tonight&8217;s BBQ Cook-off is also on schedule.
