DEMOPOLIS &8212; Two teens injured in a deadly accident last week are improving.
The two left in critical condition were Jerry Lake, 18, and D&8217;Suntra Lake, 15. They are the children of Jerry and Kertherlean Lake of Demopolis.
Jerry, who was driving the green Dodge Neon, suffered two broken legs, a collapsed lung and several cuts and scrapes. D&8217;Suntra suffered a broken leg, punctured liver, a collapsed lung and a fractured neck in the wreck.
D&8217;Suntra was airlifted to Birmingham shortly after the wreck occurred, and Jerry was taken to Tuscaloosa.
One week after the wreck, the two are still in the hospital.
The wreck was caused by heavy smoke held down over the highway by fog making visibility limited.
One vehicle slowed down to be able to see, and other vehicles crashed into it causing a domino effect. The details of the wreck are still being investigated by the Alabama Department of Public Safety and the Alabama State Troopers.
The two victims killed in the wreck were Jeremy Marlowe, 27, and Clark Pickel, age 21.
