The A.L. Johnson Eagles offense often rely on their running game. Running back Cleophus Daniel has been called upon all season long.

Friday he was instrumental in helping A.L. Johnson upset the 2A Georgiana Panthers on the road 17-0.

Daniel scored twice, both in the first half and the only touchdowns of the game. Once on a 6-yard sweep and another on a two-yard plow up the middle.

He also rushed for 100, of the Eagles 265 grueling rushing yards in 12 carries in a tough fought battle.

Eagle coach Mose Jones said, &8220;Daniel was very key for us early. He was getting six, seven and eight yards every time he got the ball.&8221;
