Body found by Hale County officers

HALE COUNTY &8212; Sheriff&8217;s from Hale County responded to a call late Saturday night involving a dead female. The body, identified as Marie Sims, 38-years-old, was found shot around 11:30 p.m.
The incident occurred on the
the Hale County and Perry County line Sunday morning, the Hale County Sheriff&8217;s Office responded.
The Hale County Sheriff&8217;s Office has reason to believe she was shot with a .22 caliber gun.
According to a witness report, the victim had previously stated that her husband, who is 42 years old, had shot at her before, and that she was scared of him.
The report also stated that Marie Sims left her residence three or four months ago with her sister.
The shooting occurred after an alleged altercation between Marie and Randy Sims.
The incident is under the investigation of the Alabama Bureau of Investigations, and no further details of the incident have been released as of press time.
