Lady Longhorns keep on rolling

The Varsity Longhorns defeated Jackson Academy in Linden on Monday, April 10.
Ashley Stokes was the winning pitcher for Marengo with five strike outs, allowed two walks and two hits.
The Longhorns were hot at the plate obtaining 13 hits.
Leading off for the Longhorns was Christina Allen with a home run and one single, Michelle Pritchett, Ashley Stokes, Amber Walker, Abbey Huckabee and Lacy Etheridge all with one double and one single.
Chelsea Etheridge and Kasie Schroeder both with one single each. Those with RBI’s were Michelle Pritchett, Chelsea Etheridge, Amber Walker, Abbey Huckabee, Christina Allen and Lacy Etheridge.
Michelle Pritchett closed the game on the mound for the Horns with two strike outs, no walks and gave up one hit. This moves the Longhorns to 21-4 this season. The Lady Horns have been aggressive this year at the plate with Out of the Park home runs by
Sr. Lacy Etheridge, Jr. Brooke Miller, Freshmen Abbey Huckabee, Amber Walker, Christina Allen and Chelsea Etheridge.
The JV Lady Longhorns are 16-0 this season and will attend the 3-A State JV Invitational this weekend in Montgomery.
They will also participate in the 2A State JV Invitational on April 21&22 in Demopolis at the Sports Plex.
On Saturday April 8 the Horns traveled to Mobile to take on the Faith Academy Rams.
Marengo swept the two game series 18-2 and 10-3. In the first game Michelle Pritchett had two doubles and one single, Christina Allen
with a home run, double and single, Kaleigh Robison with two singles, Amber Walker and Libba Carrol with one single. Pritchett was the winning pitcher with six strike outs, one walk and one hit.
In the second game Christina Allen was the winning pitcher with four strike outs, one walk and no hits. Hitting for Marengo was Jessica Brock with a home run and a single, Blair Digmon with a triple, Taylor McIlwain with a single and Ellie Cook with a single.
