Score another win for the Demopolis High School men’s soccer team. The boys got into the win column for the second time this season Tuesday and crept closer to the .500 mark with a 3-2 win over 5A Citronelle at the Demopolis Sportsplex.
After Demopolis jumped out to a 2-1 lead it looked as if Citronelle would force a tie when they connected on a penalty kick to knot the game at 2-2.
But, the Tigers would not be denied as they returned the favor when Danny Howard also connected on a penalty kick to bring home the win.
By dropping the Wildcats, Demopolis now stands at 2-4 on the season with a chance to improve on those numbers Friday as they again take on Citronelle. This time, the Tigers will have to beat the Wildcats on their own field.
The news was also god for the Lady Tigers as they pitched another shutout in their 3-0 win.
Megan Keen pulled yet another hat trick as she connected on all three Demopolis goals. Keen was assisted by Molly Coplin and her sister Fallon.
When Keen wasn’t busy slamming home goals, she and the rest of the Lady Tigers were putting together an impenetrable defense.
With the win, the Lady Tigers are 6-2-1 on the year. They also travel to take on Citronelle Friday.
