HALE COUNTY – Hale County Sheriffs are investigating the mysterious disappearances of area cattle Sheriff Larry Johnson said.

Oct. 27, three cows were reported missing from a Greensboro ranch at the intersection of County roads 16 and 73.

A few days later on Oct. 31, owners of a Sawyerville ranch on County roads 30 and 18 reported nine cows missing.

According to Johnson, there has been a third case of missing cattle since Monday, Oct. 31.

Although the motives for the cattle thefts are still being investigated, Johnson said they are currently keeping an eye on a possible suspect.

“We are not sure if the same person is responsible for all three, but we think they can be accountable for two of them,” Johnson said. “We got a lead and we think we’ll make an arrest soon.”
