Mr. and Mrs. Samuel L. Paster Sr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Nov. 5. They had dinner with the immediate family at Lone Star Steakhouse in Tuscaloosa. They were married Nov. 5, 1955 in Meridian, Miss. Their children are Doris, Samuel, Michael (deceased), Jimmie, Tracy, Harold, Pamela, Demetrius and Tomika. They have 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Samuel retired from the U.S. Corps of Engineers and Hazel retired from the Hale County Board of Education.
