Titans fall to Shelby

MONTEVALLO-In their final game of the season the West Alabama Prep Titans put up a strong showing against AISA 1-A state championship hopeful Shelby Academy losing 44-0.
The Raiders got on the board early as Josh Kervin scored on a 35 yard pass to make the score 7-0.
Kervin would strike again after the Titans first possession as he took the punt 65 yards down the sideline to raise the score to 14-0.
Kervin kept his streak alive, as he would score his third touchdown on his third touch of the game. This time Kervin would score from 28 yards out to raise the score to 21-0.
The Raiders fourth possession would see another back get in on the action as quarterback Ingram would find the endzone on a 5 yard option play to give Shelby a 28-0 lead.
The Raiders added another touchdown and a safety before the first half expired to head to the locker room with a 37-0 lead.
In the second half the Titan defense turned up the heat. After allowing a 27-yard touchdown pass with 3:00 remaining in the third quarter to bring the lead to 44-0 West Alabama Prep shut the Raiders down. For the final 15 minutes of the game the titans held strong to avoid further damage.
With the win the Raiders head into the playoff’s as the number one seed from the East. West Alabama Prep ends the season with an 0-10 mark.
