DEMOPOLIS – The city’s first habitat house is beginning to give of the warmth of a home since insulation was installed Saturday morning.
According to Lindsy Gardner, about 20 volunteers came out on the cool morning and were finished working by lunchtime.
“They put the insulation inside the house, put plywood on the west side of the home and built the porch,” she said. “And by lunch they were packing up and going home.”
Gardner said the project is still on track and the next step will be to install the doors and windows and continue to work on the roof.
As always, Habitat is still accepting donations to help toward the completion of the home and any volunteers are welcomed.
