Sweet Water Lady Dogs sweep Frisco City

SWEET WATER – The Sweet Water Lady Dogs swept the best-of-three series from Frisco City on Tuesday night at Sweet Water, taking game one 17-2 before winning game two 16-1.
In game one, Brittany Black (7-2) picked up the win for Sweet Water, pitching a complete game (four innings) while giving up only one hit, walking two, and striking out four.
Leading the way offensively in game one was Martina Landrum, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI.
Also contributing for the Lady Dogs was Lolita Young, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI, Ganae Dixon, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, Brittany Black, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI, Breanna Black, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI, and Kourtney Boykins, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
In game two, Abby Grochowski (4-5) picked up the win for Sweet Water, pitching a complete game (three innings) while giving up only one hit and striking out four.
Leading the way offensively for Sweet Water in game two was Lolita Young and Martina Landrum, who both went 3-for-3.
Young also drove in one run and Landrum picked up two RBI.
Also contributing for the Lady Dogs was Kourtney Boykins, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Leslie Perkins, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
With the sweep over Frisco City, Sweet Water advances to play Pleasant Home on Saturday afternoon.
Game one for Saturday’s game is set for 12 p.m. at Pleasant Home.
