Lady Tigers struggle at Lincoln Tournament

Fayetteville, Tenn. – The Demopolis High School varsity softball team dropped all four games this past weekend in the Lincoln Tournament held in Tennessee.
In game one on Friday evening, DHS lost 4-0 to Summertown as Brittany McGee picked up the loss, giving up seven hits and striking out three.
Leading the way offensively for the Lady Tigers in game one was Mallory Henderson, India Chancelor, Dorothy Knapp, and Brandi McGee with one hit each.
In game two on Friday night, DHS fell 7-1 to Columbia as Sara Davis picked up the loss, lasting four innings on five hits, five errors, and four strikeouts.
In game three on Saturday afternoon, the Lady Tigers dropped a 7-4 decision to Paige.
Brittany McGee picked up the loss for DHS, pitching a complete game and giving up only six hits, three walks, and striking out four.
Offensive leaders for the Lady Tigers in game three was Brittany Thorne, who had two hits and an BRI, India Chancelor, who picked up an RBI single, and Brandi McGee, who added an RBI single.
In the girls’ final game in the Lincoln Tournament, DHS lost 8-1 to Madison Academy.
Sara Davis picked up the loss, pitching four innings and giving up five hits on two strikeouts.
Blakely Tart drove in the lone Lady Tigers run on an RBI single and India Chancelor and Stewart Gross each knocked in singles.
With the losses, the Lady Tigers are now 16-16 on the season and will face Jackson this afternoon on the road.
The scheduled first-pitch for both the varsity and JV game in Jackson is set for 4 p.m.
