Sumter Academy, beating Open Door Christian on Monday night, hosted an area tournament on Wednesday, afternoon.

The Lady Eagles also had the break of having a bye for the first round.

In the second round, Southern defeated Warrior.

The third round brought up Open Door Christian and Marion Academy.

Open Door Christian won the game bringing them into the championship bracket.

In round four, Warrior eliminated Marion Academy from the tournament.

Southern faced Sumter Academy in round five for the ability to go on to play in the championship bracket.

Sumter Academy squeaked by and won the round.

Sumter went on to play Open Door Christian in the championship round and took first place in the tournament.

Open Door went on to play Southern for second and third place.

As of press time, bothteams were still battling for second place in the tournament.
