Gordon Huey Dunkin, Sr., 90, of Marion, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004. Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Kirk Funeral Homes, Marion Chapel with the Rev. James Water, Jr. and Dr. Larry Teasley officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery. Kirk Funeral Homes, Marion Chapel is in charge of all arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Slayton Dunkin of Marion, a daughter, Camille (James) Yeldell of Metaire, La., two sons, Gordon H. (Mary King) Dunkin of Birmingham and Bob (Linda) Dunkin of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., three grandchildren, James Willis Yeldell, Charlotte, N.C., Lynn Slayton Yeldell, New Orleans, La., and Gordon H. Dunkin III, Columbia, S.C., three great-grandchildren, Stephanie, James, and Caroline Yeldell, three step-grandchildren, Lyn Roster, Marion, Elizabeth Woodfin, Birmingham and William Woodfin, Marion. Mr. Dunkin is a graduate of Marion Military Institute, Class of 1939.
