Minnie Foxwell spends birthday with family, friends

Gaines and Pat Vick joined their friends, Grady and Fay Martin of Womack Hill in Meridian, Miss., where they enjoyed dining and celebrating the Martins 43rd wedding anniversary Aug. 5. Happy anniversary to this couple!
Truman and Billie Ingram went to Fairhope Thursday to visit their daughter, Lynn and Sam Dailey and their daughter, Nicole and Chris Phillips and Taylor. Little Taylor underwent surgery to insert tubes in her ears Friday at the Thomas Hospital in Fairhope. She is convalescing nicely. The Ingram’s returned home Saturday.
Providence expresses sympathy to the family of Christina Brooke Stone in her death over the weekend. Her funeral was held Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at the O’Bryant Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Linden Memorial Park Cemetery.
Donnie and Allison Cobb, Tyler and Lane and her parents, Gaines and Pat Vick, enjoyed camping at the Gulf Breeze Resort at Gulf Shores Aug. 6-13. They attended the wedding of Kelly Hasty and Norman Averette Aug. 7.
Connie Ballas and her mother, Margaret Cross met her daughter, Tonya Lonergan and Paige of Chatom at Jackson Aug. 11 and enjoyed dining. Paige came home with her grandparents and visited until Aug. 13 when Connie and Margaret took her home and visited with Ron, Tonya and Anna Lonergan.
Trudi Finley and Brooks of Eutaw spent Monday through Friday with her mother, Wynell Stokes. Her husband, Robbie Finley joined them Friday for a visit.
Pat and Gaines Vick and Melanie Mashburn Hale met their classmate and friend, Gloria Nichols Hinkleman of Destin, Fla., for lunch at the Depot Restaurant, Aug. 14. Gloria was visiting relatives and friends in the area.
Brenda Johnston and her grandsons, Colton and Cason Cook visited her mother, R.T. Moore in Centreville Saturday.
Lance and Amy Tucker and Walt of Fayette vacationed last week in Gulf Shores. Enroute home they visited their grandmother, Sadie Merle Whitcomb, Sunday afternoon.
The Rev. David and Mae Digmon of Lumberton, Texas, were the Friday night guest of their aunt, Trula Vee Quinney’s they were enroute home from North Carolina. They enjoyed dining at Ezells Fish Camp and fellowshipping.
Wynell Stokes had as Saturday guests, Carolyn and Don Maness, Charlotte and Billy Lyles Mike Lyles and Hunter of Prattville, Brenda King and Jackie Glass.
Mary Cobb and son, Brandon Pugh of Nanafalia visited her mother, Georgia Cobb Friday. She accompanied them home and visited until Sunday afternoon.
Martha Barton and Mary Ann Mansfield were business visitors in Tuscaloosa Thursday.
Saturday night Gaines and Pat Vick joined Bly and Model Tucker in Thomasville where they enjoyed dining. They visited Marjean Singleton while in Thomasville, also.
Freddie and Martha Pope, their daughter, Ginger and Raymond Alexander, Daniel and Tyler vacationed Aug. 7-11 with Jean Broz, Faye Harper and Montoy Harper and other relatives in Houston, Texas.
Providence community is saddened by the death of the pastor of the Providence Baptist Church, the Rev. Allen Patterson, Aug. 13 after a long illness. He had been declining in health for over a year and entered UAB Hospital in Birmingham, June 28, where he remained until his death. His funeral was held Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church with burial at Pate’s Chapel Cemetery in Thorsby. We express sympathy to this family.
Minnie Foxhall celebrated her birthday Aug. 14 with delicious meal at LaGran Fiesta Mexican Restaurant in Demopolis with these attending: Rex and Kay Courtney, John Courtney, Jennifer Leon, Gino or Tina Christian, Jason and Pam McNeil, Matthew and Clair Courtney, Tyler, Walker and John Alex, Melvin and Helen Kane, Tabitha Hamilton, Courtney and Celia, Mary Criswell, Jeffrey Thornton and Mary, Russell Thornton, Danielle and Mybala, Emily Flowers and Parker, Wayne and Martha Courtney, Brian and Mellosond James, Emily, Libby and Maggi and Mike and Linda Aitken.
