As the Demopolis high school football team prepares for the upcoming season, head coach Doug Goodwin is excited about the potential of this season’s team.

After going undefeated in regional action last season, Goodwin looks to reproduce that mark.

“We’re pretty experienced on both sides of the ball and kicking the ball,” Goodwin said.

“We’re capable in all three areas.

It’s just a matter of execution.”

Demopolis has 39 returning players this year.

There are seven returning offensive starters and 11 returning defensive starters.

“We have a lot of guys returning that were part of last season’s success,” Goodwin said.

“We only lost four players as seniors and we look to have another successful season.”
