Cecil Lamar White. 96, Marion died Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Vaughn Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 27, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Home Marion Chapel with interment following in Pine Crest Memorial Gardens, Marion. The Rev. Lloyd Stockman will officiate with Kirk Funeral Directors Marion Chapel Directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel before the service. Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews. Mr. White is preceded in death by his wife, Wilna Ivey White. Pallbearers include James (Bud) Rinehart, Robert Murphy, Greg Cochran, Levert Hopkins, Jack Blevins, Val Ivey. Mr. White was born on August 14, 1907 in Dallas County, AL. His parents were Amos Lamar and Mattie Lowrey White.

John A. Marcus, Jr., 79, Marion died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at the Vaughn Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were Monday, June 22, 2004 at 11 am at the Siloam Baptist Church in Marion with interment in Heiberger Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Perry officiated and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directed. Mr. Marcus is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marjorie H. Marcus, Marion, Ala; a son Robert Earl Marcus, Marion; a sister, Nora M. Fondren, Marion; three brothers, James Earl Marcus, Birmingham, Robert Kenneth Marcus, Marion, Iowa, and John C. Massey, Foley;
three grandchildren, Robert Brian Marcus, Kingston, Jamica, Sarah M. Berry, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Susan M. Talton, Birmingham; great-grandchildren, John Edward Talton “Jack”,
Birmingham and Charlen Hunter Berry, Honolulu, Hawaii. Pallbearers include Doug Halbrooks, Dennis Harbison, Grady Wallace, John Baugh, Roy Barnette, Phillip Marcus, John W. Anderson, Jr. and Corin Harrison, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are The Members of the Woodfin Griffin Sunday School Class and the Deacons of the Siloam Baptist Church, Dr. Shane Lee, and Cecil Crawford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Siloam Baptist Church, 505 Washington Street and Heiberger Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, Route 3 B ox 127.
