Health screenings set by local EMS service

Each year millions of people are diagnosed with Diabetes and Hypertension. Statistics show that there are 18.2 million people in the United States, or 6.3% of the population , who have diabetes. Of this 18.2 million people, approximately 5.2 million (nearly one-third) are unaware that they have the disease. Recent estimates show that one in four U.S. adults has high blood pressure with one-third of these unaware they even suffer from Hypertension. In order to make the citizens of Marengo County more aware of these diseases, beginning April 10, 2004 Tombigbee EMS will be conducting free Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar checks. Citizens of Marengo County are welcome to take advantage of this free service. There will be at least five locations scheduled throughout Marengo County. More screenings will be added if necessary. Clinics will be held from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on the following dates:
April 10, Wal-Mart, Demopolis
April 17, Food World, Demopolis
April 24, K&K Pharmacy, Linden
May 1, Go-Co Gas Station, Sweet Water
May 8, Medical Clinic, Thomaston
