Two arrested in Linden robbery

The Linden Police Department arrested two citizens of Linden and charged them both with Robbery first degree. Darryl Johnson B/M age 35 of 507 Ralph D. Abernathy Cr. was arrested on Thursday night for the Jan. 10, 2004 Robbery of Mr. Joe Young in Linden.
Mr. Young was asleep around 4 a.m. when two black males broke into his home and robbed him of some cash. Johnson was armed with a knife at the time of the robbery. Mr. Young was not injured.
Johnson is also charged with the Feb 25th, 2004 burglary of a home on Lucas St. in Linden. Some of the items taken were located at the home of Johnson on Friday when we searched his home.
Eugene Oliver B/M age 30 of 104 D Stough Lane was also arrested. He is charged with Robbery first degree of Joe Young. He is also wanted in Pickens Co. for Failure to Pay Child support. He has not been charged with any other crimes in Linden.
Both remain in the Marengo County jail. Bond is to be set this afternoon by Judge Drinkard.
Chief Jeff Laduron of the Linden Police Department said the officers worked very hard on solving these cases. He also said that he is very proud of the hard work the officers did. “Officer Dexter Watters received information on the cases and we followed it up,” Laduron said.
Officer Watters, Sgt. McClure, Officer Jalone Malone, K-9 Officer Huckabee, Officer Robert Alston and Chief Laduron all assisted with the arrest.
