Moody Radio stations WMBV and WMBU with a combined goal of $210,000 received faith promises totaling $210,623during its recently completed annual fund raiser called Share 2004.

The stations are non-profit and listener supported with WMBV at 91.9 in Dixons Mills, AL and WMBU at 89.1 in Forest, MS. WMBV is celebrating sixteen years of broadcasting and WMBU is in its seventh year.

Rob Moore, Station Manager for Moody Radio, said that the $210,000 was raised in four days and it represents two-thirds of the station’s annual budget.

“The other one-third is supplied by donors that are enrolled in a giving program that we call, “Monthly for Moody Radio,” Moore explained.

The $210,623 breaks out into 1,503 gifts.

Moore said that volunteers from all over southwest and central Alabama and east and central Mississippi volunteered to answer phones, bring food, and help in various ways.

Businesses, churches, and station friends donated meals, snacks, ice, cups, plates, and soft drinks for the fund raiser.

Moore described the atmosphere as electrified the entire four days, especially the last ninety minutes as the station raised $20,000 during that time and made its goal with three minutes left to go before the event ended.

“Its like a big, family reunion,” Moore said.

“It’s great to see old friends and make new ones during Share. We love hearing from our listeners and they are so vital to the ongoing work of these radio ministries in Alabama and Mississippi,” according to Moore.
