arion Military Institute Tigers Quenteric Reed collected 19 points and five steals Tuesday night as the 10-1 Tigers crush the West Alabama Prep Titans 52-21. For the 2-9 WAP Titans it was another long and painful night on the court with numerous turnovers and poor shooting as seniors Lance Maness and Joe Magro led the way for the Titans with four points apiece. And to add insult to injury, sophomore Daniel Logan had to be carried off the court mid-way through the fourth period with a painful ankle injury.
The Lady Titans are still in need of a win as they fall 53-18 to MMI and are 0-12 this season. Emily Easley led the way for the MMI Lady Tigers with 15 points while Yolanda Kelly followed with 14 points and five steals.
Samatha Suttles made a lasting impression with her 17 rebounds and eight points on the night.
And in boys Junior Varsity action, MMI Tigers Isaiah Wates collected an amazing 31 points and 10 rebounds on the night to help lead the Tigers to a 64-14 win over the Titans. With play like that it’s no wonder that the JV Tigers are 7-0.
The Tigers will return home for another area game with the always-dangerous Warrior Academy Braves Friday night, while the Titans will host Marion Academy on Friday night and travel to Pickens Academy on Saturday.
