Walter Howard Parr

Walter Howard Parr, 81, of Demopolis, died Saturday, February 9, 2002, at his residence.
Services were held Monday, February 11, 2002, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Rex Kent officiating.
Burial was held in Demopolis Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors.
He was a native of Sawyerville, Alabama, and a resident of Demopolis for over 60 years. He was self-employed in the wholesale and retail gasoline business. He was a past deacon of the First Baptist Church in Demopolis and also a member of the Demopolis Kiwanis Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estelle and John Walter Parr; a brother, Willie Booth Parr; and a sister, Josephine Parr Duncan.
He is survived by his wife, Irma Pitts Parr of Demopolis; a daughter, Mary Anna Parr of Birmingham; a son, H. Higley (Paula) Parr of Demopolis; three sisters, Minnie W. Johnson of Northport, Louise Payne of Midfield, and Estelle (Allie H.) Eubanks of Lilburn, Georgia; four brothers, Ervin, Jack and Pat Parr, all of Greensboro, and Charles (Brenda) Parr of Demopolis; two grandchildren, James Howard Parr and Joseph Higley Parr, both of Demopolis.
Pallbearers were Ronald Payne, Terry Payne, Gene Shirley, Jim Pitts, Rencher Hall Jr., John Parr, Gene Hawkins Jr. and Robert Smith.
